Jan Treur works as a full professor in Artificial Intelligence. He is an internationally well-recognized expert in human-directed AI and cognitive and social modelling. The research of Jan Treur during the past 10 years concerns both fundamental and application-directed aspects of human-directed AI. This covers methods and techniques for modelling and analysis of human-directed AI approaches in a number of application areas, including Cognitive and Social modelling and simulation. He has been and still is active both by author and PC member roles in practically all relevant conferences and journals in these AI and application areas. Currently his research has mostly a multidisciplinary focus and addresses Network-Oriented Modeling approaches based on adaptive temporal-causal networks to model cognitive, affective and social interactions, with two books about this published in 2016 and 2020. Applications cover multi-order adaptive network models for mental and social simulation and human-aware or socially aware AI systems and virtual agents.

Dr. Varuna De Silva is a Senior Lecturer in Machine Intelligence at Loughborough University. He obtained his Ph.D. in video coding and communications from Center for Vision Speech and Signal Processing at University of Surrey in 2011. He has worked in 3 major European Union Funded Projects during 2010-2013. Between 2013 and 2016, Varuna worked as a senior research engineer in computer vision at Apical Ltd (Now part of ARM UK). He was appointed lecturer at Loughborough University in 2016. He currently supervises 7 Ph.D.s and 2 Post doctoral research fellows in the area of Artificial Intelligence (Multimodal machine learning and multi-agent reinforcement learning) with a strong focus on engineering applications in driverless vehicle technology and team sport analytics. 4th SLAAI-ICAI -2020 welcomes submissions across all areas of AI. The conference scope covers all subareas of AI, including (but not limited to) following topics.
We encourage all types of contributions including theoretical, engineering and applied in the area of AI and related areas. We also encourage innovations with AI techniques in the context of application domains, such as security, education, health care, transportation, commerce etc.
All papers submitted to this conference will go through a double blind peer review process handled by the programme committee. Acceptance will be based on originality, significance, technical soundness, presentation, and references. The conference programme committee makes the final decision on the acceptance or rejection of a paper. View more details here .
SLAAI-ICAI is now accepting manuscript submissions. Prospective authors are invited to submit their full papers with 15 pages maximum. Please note that NO short papers or extended abstracts will be accepted.
The authors are advised to submit their manuscripts for reviewing once their drafts are ready, instead of waiting till the submission deadline. It is our target that the reviewing process for each submitted manuscript can be completed within four weeks from its submission. Then, the participants will have more time to prepare for their conference registration and other related activities.
All papers should be written in English. Proof reading and grammar checking is strongly encourage before submitting the papers. Download the paper template and follow when preparing manuscripts.
Registration is open to all persons interested in attending SLAAI-ICAI-2020
The goal of SLAAI-ICAI-2020 provides a forum to interconnect world class researchers in AI and to share smart innovations which addresses the greatest challenges faced by the businesses and society at large.
